I have had the chance to experience 2 births which were life changing. The birth of my daughter and the birth of my son; they both weighed 5lbs. 7 oz. and they were both delivered through scheduled c-sections. It is amazing to see the two of them now and how they are continuously developing into good little people.
I chose these two events because of the impact that they had on my life. As I read about other countries and how women give birth in various places I believe that we are blessed here in America. In Africa women give birth at home and it is a well known dangerous experience because of the lack of medical assistance.Watching the process of a baby being born is life changing and a sight to see. Oh! The joy of ...babies!
I love the dancing baby and the picture of the baby crawling. I felt like I missed out on a wonderful and unforgettable experience by having a c-section, but there was no alternative for me. Do you feel you missed out on something by having a cesarean birth? Don't get me wrong, I remember every second of the cesarean birth and doubt I could be any more amazed at the sight of these two beautiful little miracles coming from inside me.
ReplyDeleteStef,
ReplyDeleteWhat influenced you to decide on a scheduled c-section? I have experienced, through my wife, what an emergency c-section feels like. Her doctors have told her that she has the choice to deliver naturally or via c-section when it is time for our second child.

ReplyDeleteI don't feel as if I missed out on something because the fact that I gave birth was a miracle within itself due to bilateral hip surgery in my pre-teen years. I enjoyed the fact that I was able to decide their birthdays!!
