Research Around the World

Here is a closer look at research around the World
  • What are some of the current international research topics? Some of the current research topics that this website highlighted are the following:

The Status of Coordination and Supervision of Early Childhood Education in Ghana

Coordinating the Development and Implementation of the 2003 – 2013 National Action Plan
    for children in Malawi

A Community-driven Rural Early Childhood Development (ECD) Project, with Emphasis on
Culturally and Developmentally Appropriate Exploratory Learning Concepts

Parents’ and Other Caregivers’ Perception of Early Childhood Development Needs
and Quality: A Study of the PLAN-Assisted Programmes in Bawjiase, Ghan

  • What surprising facts/insights/new ideas about early childhood did you gain from exploring this international early childhood website? The insight that I gained form the website was that there are so many other research topics that need to be addressed in other countries than in America. There are also topics that we need to look into in America. Also there are so many children that need need the help from Early Childhood Development Professionals. In so many words research is important to uncover the issues that need to be addressed.
  • What other noteworthy information did you find on this website? The website that I viewed was http://www.ecdvu.org/ssa/index.php. This website is connected to the University of Victoria and the students that conducted the research in the different countries did so to earn a degree in the field of Early Childhood Education. The information that the students provided was similar to what my peers and I are expected to produce.

  2. Great post! You are so right. Americans and other early childhood education professionals from different countries can learn a lot from networking with each other. Also, yes, research is very important in bringing awareness to appropriate issues that need to be addressed.
